The invasive spread of humanity goes at the expense of many people, subsequent generations as well as countless other living beings and has led to a true massacre within biodiversity. Its causes are the dangers posed by the unleashed greed of humans and by modern technology. Billions of plants, animals and humans are now exposed to these dangers. In addition to their well-being and survival, the future of more and more species and their natural habitats is already at stake. This is why countless threatened creatures and many endangered species and ecosystems require urgent protection. Due to the dependencies of humans from other species and their habitats, which are already at risk, more and more people too are in danger. Considering the continued degradation of their livelihoods, they also need protection from all too ruthless contemporaries. With the domino-type accelerating decline in species and the raging destruction of habitats, the risk of humans endangering up to the survival of the entire species of Homo sapiens, is steadily growing.
This raises the question of what – apart from a home-made disaster – could bring humanity the necessary insight and dissuade it from its suicidal course. Unfortunately, the power of globally united women, which would have the potential to save us, can not be expected on time. Also, hopes of salvation in time by a higher alien intelligence or by divine intervention to soon end the countless dramas happening on this planet, are likewise unrealistic.
Since time immemorial, individuals with outstanding intelligence and creative power have done great things in areas such as art, culture, research and technology, thereby extending, facilitating and enriching the lives of countless people. But with the solution of the biggest current problems, even the genius of such individuals and very competent small groups seems to be overstrained. The reasons for such inability to cope with these problems are likely to be their complexity, their global dimensions, as well as culturally one-sided views, and not least, the risk of conflicts with negative consequences for personal careers. To make matters worse, generously endowed job opportunities, which only exceptionally serve public interests, often attract the most promising talents among the applicants in search for employment. As a result, the general public loses most valuable human capacities, that would be urgently needed to tackle the biggest global problems. Not enough, using particularly talented staff to increase the profits for wealthy corporations, or the power for big political parties, exacerbates many of these problems.

Direct assistance from truly dedicated individuals helps very much in places, where there is urgent need. For example, it provides food, medicines and clothing for the needy, cares for suffering and threatened animals and strengthen citizens’ initiatives to protect local ecosystems at risk. However, even the most dedicated and competent persons helping are physically limited in their ability to do so, and most of them are already fully booked or overburdened with important tasks. Their infinitely valuable work saves and protects many suffering creatures quickly and efficiently, but unfortunately, it alone can not bring about the urgently needed change in the course of human society, due to lack of influence on the part of these altruistic persons.
Countless people support charitable organizations according to their personal priorities, be it in the social field, in animal welfare, in nature conservation or in environmental protection in the narrower sense. Regrettably, most of these associations focus on individual symptoms of problems and such shortened approach favors constrained views, as well as the neglect of the complex causes of the problems, thus often limiting the impact of diverse initiatives. Indeed, a large part of the potential of their dedicated supporters rubs up in uneven struggles on the closed fronts of powerful opponents united by their greed and generally well-funded through their exploitation of diverse living beings.

For these reasons, so far only relatively small of the burning problems of this world have been solved. Coping with the greatest challenges not only requires understanding of all abuses and coordinated counteractions, but also intercultural cooperation and the massive pooling of available resources of very numerous and dedicated individuals. Due to the intertwining and huge dimensions of acute problems, LIFE UNION seeks to involve as many supporters as possible worldwide for the simultaneous protection of endangered people, animals and plants as well as those of their natural habitats. In view of the extremely critical situation for innumerable living beings, this seems to be the only chance of success in the great battle of charitable engagement for life in danger against its ongoing exploitation and annihilation for the purpose of individual enrichment and gratification of indulgence and vanity. This utmost urgent battle will be decisive over the future of life on Earth and has to be engaged, before it is too late for most of its beings and diversity.
